Red Creek Tools

Don't look now, but we're about to sell you some ski tools from Red Creek. You don't know that you need this stuff yet... but you do. Stay tuned.

a) Brown Horsehair Brush ($30) - This is a stiff horsehair brush and an excellent first brush for all but the warmest waxes. The aggressive bristles work quickly and efficiently. Use a back and forth scrubbing action. This brush is the primary first brush on the world cup and at $30 is an amazing value.

b) Blue Nylon Brush ($30) - Forget everything you know about blue polishing brushes. This one from Red Creek is NOT the same as the ones you have used from other companies. This brush is stiff and puts an incredible shine on the base. This brush is the primary polishing brush on the world cup.

c) 3mm Scraper ($15) - At more than twice the price of the standard scraper, it may initially be hard to see the point of this tool. It defies logic and explanation, but having scraped thousands of pairs of skis and used every brand of scraper out there, we can definitively say that this one from Red Creek is the best. This scraper takes an edge better than any other, stays sharp for longer, and makes short work of the hardest glide waxes. Try this tool out and you will be a believer. I'm not willing to work on skis with anything else.

Come by the shop and take a look. We're really excited about these tools and you should be too.

Ski Selection
Once we have determined which category of ski suits your needs we begin the selection process based on your height and weight picking the appropriate skis from our ski rack. Once we have made our initial selections we have you move into our fitting room where we determine which ski is best for you.

Ski Ready Service
Once we we have the correct ski for you there is a two day turn around to have your skis mounted with bindings and placed in the hot box over night with a soft glide wax. In the morning we remove the skis from the hot box and cap the skis with a low flour glide wax. For classic skis the grip zone is marked with permanent marker, sanded and base binder is applied so when you pick up your skis they are ready to enjoy the great outdoors. All you will need to do is apply the correct grip wax when going classic skiing.

Each pair of new skis purchased from our shop comes with the following;
  • Hot Box (sport and performance skis)
  • Glide Wax
  • Base Binder (classic skis)
  • Binding Mount
  • Ski Straps
  • Free Ski Bag if you purchase a package (skis, boots, poles and bindings)
Follow Up Service
Waxing can be a chore so we offer several options for ski services and suggest you bring your skis into the shop every two to three weeks through the winter to have your skis cleaned and re-glide waxed for optimal performance.
